Hans Meiboom Painting

As someone with an art education and degree, I feel the need and pleasure to express myself through painting.

I paint patterns, structures and layers. Not so much in a literal sense, but in a figurative sense. Through painting techniques and stylistic features influenced by post-impressionism and pop art, I interpret my own images and those from the (mass) media. By reusing them and placing them in new compositions, new stories can emerge. Stories that reveal and question patterns, structures and layers of the world we live in.
